Why?

The question I'm most frequently asked, when I tell people I've given up red meat and poultry, is "Why?"

It's pretty simple actually. There's no grand reason, it's simply this: I wanted to.

Carol already eats this way, she has for eleven years, and she did for moral reasons. When we got married and moved in together, I said I would eat this way at home as well, since that would save us money and time; not having to buy meat or cook separate meals. I would eat meat when we were out, or at when I was at work. It was going pretty well, so I thought I could take it a step further and do it full-time.

That's it in a nutshell. No big dramatic reason or purpose.
